The Power of Interpersonal Communication in Human Life
Introduction and Rationale
Interpersonal communication is a connection, association or involvement between two persons (Lexicon Publishing LLC 2007). The richness or effectiveness of interpersonal communication determines the strength of a relationship, organization or society. This study will investigate some current available literature on what constitutes powerful or effective interpersonal communication and how it can be enhanced to further enrich human relations.

Hyatt writes that effective communication, regardless of gender, must take into consideration the person and context in which the communication takes place. He clarifies that no special formula is required for a man to speak effectively with a woman. Effective interpersonal communication requires common sense, sensitivity, and respect. Whether verbal or non-verbal, communication is an excellent behavioral skill and talent but which many take for granted. It may be a twitch of the lip, a squint or the volume of the voice. Human beings were made to communicate directly and personally within organizations, the community and among themselves. ow the cliche applies to interpersonal communications. But, at other times, silence can mean distraction, boredom, social ineptness, unexpressed anger or a weapon used as punishment. They should focus on love and their respective spiritual growth rather than out-talk or defeat one another on a given point of contention. He must also pronounce words correctly and confidently. Nonverbal communications are even of greater significance and must be given due attention. It can be a great foundation for a lasting relationship between them. The speed is another important factor. In achieving or establishing credibility, the leader must constantly and strongly rely on nonverbal factors. These are relationship conversation, possibility conversation, action conversation, opportunity conversation and follow-up conversation. Silence in itself is an extreme form of nonverbal communication, which asserts its own message with power. FSNs are among the key groups of people affected by the increased use of the internet and the technology it represents.
