Chiropractic Application Essay
Why do I plan to become involved in chiropractic medicine? First, I have always cherished the opportunity to help friends, family members, and anyone in need of my assistance. I was raised to be an unselfish person and to consider the feelings of others as well as myself. Running errands for our elderly neighbors or for an ill member of our church - and offering help to strangers who may be down on their luck - have always been tasks that come naturally to me. Instead of prescribing drugs for pain, or sending a patient off for surgery, it will be my job (and I will look forward to coming to work each day) to offer a solution that will be permanent and sustainable without drugs and / or surgery. Moreover, the career opportunities for doctors practicing chiropractic medicine are expected to grow as fast or faster than most other occupations, according to my research. All those points I made add up to my belief that with continuing energy, ambition, intelligence, concern for humanity and patience, I will become a respected and successful doctor of chiropractic medicine. Why do they do this? Perhaps it is because they were reluctant to utilize the services of a doctor, or had an uncomfortable experience with a physician or a chiropractor at some point in their lives. Moreover, many people I have come into contact with have suffered back pain and other musculature-related problems, and simply gone on in their lives without proper medical treatment. Being self-employed in a profession that allows me to help people get relief from pain, and live healthier lives, agrees with me. pain and other health-related maladies; and in too many cases, the sources of their discomfort have not been fully discovered. I believe that I can become highly proficient in chiropractic skills, and I believe that in the great majority of cases, I will be able to solve the problem of back pain for people, and be so efficient and professional that I will be able to establish trust between myself and my patients. And thirdly, recent statistics show that up to seventy percent of active chiropractors are in solo practice, and that appeals to me enormously.
