Racial Profiling

The most significant and complex issues law enforcement face today is racial profiling. There are a lot of sensitive issues to deal with. Law enforcement and public safety agencies are dealing with sensitive issues of "Black or Brown" or "DWB" and can or can't it be a part of discrimination.Discrimination is unfavorable treatment of groups of people on arbitrary grounds such as race or religion, a form of control that keeps the groups socially distant from one another. (Rush, 2000, p. 109). Today, there are many different kinds of discrimination. As the interactions of people take place their everyday life, discrimination is obvious in some cases and invidious in others. All unfair treatment is not illegal discrimination. Law protects the victim's rights when it is legislatively or Judicially declared to be illegal. Even some of those circumstances prove to be insufficient.Racial profiling usually happens when law enforcement officials depend on skin color and ethnicity, race, probable cause, reasonable suspicion, except when part of the description of a unusual suspect. Today, they are policies prohibiting racial profiling as unethical and unacceptable conduct in many law enforcement agencies. W

I wouldn't want to be stopped by police just because the color of my skin. People oppose "DWB" profiling for several reasons. After World War II anyone of Japanese decent lining in the United States were thought to be a traitor and were put into prisoner of war camps. Police assume African American drivers are more likely to be transporting drugs. Maybe one day the things will be different and whites will become the profiled group. Racial profiling takes away a minority person's basic freedom from the fourth amendment this also doesn't really benefit anyone.
