Ethics and Morality
Moral relativism and Nazism seem to go hand in hand. Moral relativism basically is the idea that morals and ethics do not necessarily reflect the objective or universal moral truth, but instead they relate to societies, culture, and even personal conditions. Thus, as a Nazi, moral relativism fits right in with my culture and societal beliefs that whites are supreme, Jews are inferior, and the world needs to be won over to Nazism. It would be very attractive to me because it would allow me to believe what I wanted to believe, despite the clear ethical and moral problems concerned, and it would even help me rationalize my behavior against "inferior" races, such as the Jews. It would in effect help me become racist and evil by allowing me to create my own alternative morals and ethics, whether they had anything to do with real reality and morality or not.Captured terrorists should be treated as prisoners of war because that is what they are. But, they should be treated as prisoners of war and enemies of the western world. The purpose of punishment is to deter the offender and others from committing future crimes. Punishment is not given lightly in most cases, and so, it should serve as a deterrent and as a lesson to the offender that their behavior is not acceptable in society and they have to alter their behavior if they want to fit into society. The mother's rights are the most important because she is the most affected by the pregnancy, both before and after the baby is born, and so, she should have the final say in what happens to that baby. So, fighting the war killed innocent people, but the potential for many more innocent people was far greater, and the war helped save millions of people, even as it killed millions, too. The principal argument about abortion rights lies with the rights of the pregnant woman because she is the most affected by the pregnancy, and the one whose body is carrying the child. They should not get any special treatment, and they should not be treated any worse than the standards for prisoners of war allow. Many people believe that the child's rights are the most important, but the child does not have a will or a voice, and the mother still has to carry it to birth, and then decide its' fate. The purpose of punishment, no matter whether it is in prison or not, it to stop that behavior and replace it with a more acceptable behavior. She is also the one that will have to raise the child alone if she is a single mother, and all of these choices affect her, and many of them her alone. There are often times when we must go to war to save innocent people from being killed. They are prisoners of war, because if they were not in prison they would be waging more war on America and other nations, and so, they should be treated as prisoners of war. Of course, in war, innocent people do die anyway, but often war is a way to control those deaths instead of them becoming indiscriminate.
