To be American is to be free. Just like a fish does not know it is in water, Americans do not know what Freedom is because we have, for the most part, always had it. Lets look at the trustworthy source the dictionary to really know the basic definition of Freedom. Webster's Dictionary says this about freedom, "The quality or state of being free: independence, unrestricted use or a political right." The word freedom shows action; not just a word with alphabet letters put together, but a word with emotion. Love too is an action word. Show me the love and freedom of what millions of people around the world seek and desire to know first hand. This love and freedom is something Americans have always had. To be American is to have pride. Pride in a wonderful country, won by war, blood, sweat and tears. Actio
n in its truest colors is red, white and blue. Americans are creative, tenacious, hardworking and have great ingenuity for problem solving. "My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord. Look at the Grand Coulee Dam that fueled, supported and helped us win World War II. An American can pursue their dreams from, "New York Island to the Redwood forest, to the Gulf Stream waters", and do so with intelligence, courage, diversity, pride and freedom. Our veterans are heroes and hold a great knowledge of our sweet land of liberty from sea to shining sea. Ethnicity are traits and customs that vary greatly; but because we are American, we have a master mind, a unified force and stand tall with liberty and justice. No where in the world can you experience so many different races right in your own backyard. We want all Americans to be able to read, write, know mathematics, and know the precious history of our blessed country. " "He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat. America wants kids currently to graduate and become smarter so that they have opportunities to help solve problems in the world. Medicine, government, science, engineering, and even inventions are needed everyday to help our country. Look at the song, Battle Hymn of the Republic. We appreciate those that have died for our basic rights, and those soldiers in uniform that die everyday, that have made life the way it is for us.
