American

To be American is to be free. Just like a fish does not know it is in water, Americans do not know what Freedom is because we have, for the most part, always had it. Lets look at the trustworthy source the dictionary to really know the basic definition of Freedom. Webster's Dictionary says this about freedom, "The quality or state of being free: independence, unrestricted use or a political right." The word freedom shows action; not just a word with alphabet letters put together, but a word with emotion. Love too is an action word. Show me the love and freedom of what millions of people around the world seek and desire to know first hand. This love and freedom is something Americans have always had.
To be American is to have pride. Pride in a wonderful country, won by war, blood, sweat and tears. Action in its truest colors is red, white and blue. We appreciate those that have died for our basic rights, and those soldiers in uniform that die everyday, that have made life the way it is for us. A life, again for the most part, that we have always known. A country of love, an ability to pursue happiness, and experience peace and safety when you sleep at night. This security is something most countries have never known and sadly, will never get to know.
To be American is to grow and learn by the many cultures and diversity that we have. No where in the world can you experience so many different races right in your own backyard. Ethnicity are traits and customs that vary greatly; but because we are American, we have a master mind, a unified force and stand tall with liberty and justice. Religious opportunities abound everywhere for Americans, from which they can pick and choose. Look at the song, Battle Hymn of the Republic. "My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the lord." "He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat." "Glory, glory, Hallelujah!"
