james baldwin

JAMES BALDWIN James Baldwin is from Harlem and was born in August 2 1924; he never knew his father and spend his childhood in poverty... He went to Frederick Douglass Junior High, His mother married a factory worker, when he was only three years old so Baldwin had to consider him as a father, and this man also was storefront preacher. Baldwin adopted the surname from this stepfather. Baldwin started to write when he was twelve and that s when his first story appeared in a church newspaper. Just like many teenagers , he had worked in many jobs to survive .One more thing I have to mention about him is that at the age of 14 he became a preacher at a small fireside Pentecostal church Baldwin is one of the best African American writers, he wrote so many great novels that it was a difficulty for me to choose witch one I was going to base my essay on .He's style of writing amazed me ,and I think it s very attractive the way he write. As I said before, he wrote a lot of books, to just name a few like:-Just above my head

I wanted to be master, to speak with authority which could only come from God. since it is about the role of Christianity in the experience of black men and women and the relationship between black and white, the book concentrates on the climactic night in Baldwin s spiritual life 3- The relationship between races is implicitly part of this storyGo Tell It on the Mountain, actually, shows more than those three majors things I've named before, to me it is the history of American race relations and the role of religion Because I think it s much more about Christianity because it is concerned with real people, . Two of them impressed me, Go tellit on the mountain and Giovanni's room,Giovanni's room is about a profound connection between race and sexuality, writing in the first person Baldwin is talking about a young, white American who is trying to find himself in post-World War II France. well this novel is extremely classic to me , and funny as well ,I felt in love with it because I discovered a part of reality on it, specially those days where gay couple is now an issue in our society. "Well, I really don t know how he could believe that the lord would save him when married and plus being a pastor he had an affair with another women, which brought him a son.
