No doubt this statement was to illustrate his point that the most imperishable literature works in the world, without exception, are all rooted in their national traditions. However, in this very argumentationCthe prominent role of < Adventures Of Huckberry Finn>, written by mark Twain, in American as well as world literature also becomes apparent.
             For mark TwainCcreating < Adventures Of Huckberry Finn> was by no means accidental. He spent seven years writing this classic novel-----the book Hemingway claimed is the basis for all American fiction. The story of Finn and Jim's quest for freedom on a raft on the Mississippi provides a panoramic view of Southern society, which Twain saw as beset by greed, violence, and coldhearted brutality. At the end, Huck definitively abandons the conventional cant which he has been raised to believe in when he makes the decision to go to hell rather than betray his friend Jim and send him back to slavery.
             Huckleberry Finn is a real American boyFHe is not a sissy boy depicted in common fictions, nor is he a diminutive grownup with a premature mentality. He is just a typical American boy, whose minds are understood deeply by Mark twain.
