The biggest barrier to change, new ideas and innovation in large corporations is very often Management. To adequately perform all these tasks probably requires people to display combined skills of a few great men in history. Some confuse it with discretion or bluntness or simply not telling lies. Respect also brings about an intimate relationship that builds confidence in subordinates to confide and seek resolutions to various personal or work problems. In fact this is one of his most important strengths. This ability can easily be enhanced when our employees respect us, trust us and believe in us. On the contrary, by humiliating others we are reducing their confidence or plant the seed of anger, discontentment, hatred or revenge. The second reason for a small number of great Managers is that our efforts in educating and training have been focused on technical proficiency and too little on character .
