The respiratory system is a very important system in the human body and is very essential for humans to live. Just like everything else in the world, the respiratory system can have many problems, some fatal and some not so harmful. Some of those diseases that can affect your respiratory system are lung cancer, asthma, emphysema, and pneumonia. These diseases don't happen to everyone, but some people are unfortunate, and have to live with those diseases. Lung cancer is one of the most popular diseases that every one has probably heard of. Lung cancer begins by cellular changes in the bronchial epithelial cells and can invade adjustment tissues before symptoms are even noticed. There are many types of lung cancer, but most can be categorized into two basic types, small cell and nonsmall cell. In general, the small cell type has usually spread by the time of diagnosis and is treated by chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
