             With globalization affecting almost every country in the world today, there comes a greater need for trade liberalization, and a more robust flow of investments. As such, it is inevitable that jobs once held by a country's workers will now be subject to global market forces, and may be moved abroad, or outsourced, if necessary. Although it may appear unethical and detrimental towards a nation's workers, outsourcing is necessary, and in fact vital to sustain a flexible and competitive economy.
             Before it gained its notorious reputation and provocative implications, outsourcing once referred to the seemingly innocuous practice of turning over non-critical functions of a business to a contracting company that specialized in those activities. The primary purpose of outsourcing is to provide a better focus on core business functions by improving responsiveness, quality, and flexibility. In other words, non-core functions should, and must be accomplished as cheaply and efficiently as possible in order to achieve lower production costs, and conserve valuable resources. At first, outsourcing only entailed secondary functions such as cleaning up the office or running a cafeteria. Then it started to include higher value jobs further up the corporate-service functions. Suddenly, every company joined in the craze of exporting almost all business functions to lower cost countries whose workers could perform the same tasks at a fraction of the cost.
             In a global economy where physical boundaries are becoming less distinct, the gravitation of talented and skilled labor towards a market demand has become progressively easier. For example, such a situation can be illustrated by trade-liberalization deals like the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
