12 Angry Men
This is my first review and I thought I should describe in brief what the movie is about and then give my opinion on it.A Puerto Rican youth is accused of knifing his father to death, and the trial testimony seems to present an open-and-shut case; the all white male jury can take a serious second look at everything, or they can just vote guilty and go home the same day. One juror even explains that he'd like to get out in time to g
I think that they made a remake of the movie, although I havent seen it, I dont know how they could top this. But Henry Fonda's character votes Not Guilty on the first ballot, and explains that he thinks the responsibility to decide the fate of a man's life should at least merit a thorough review of the evidence. As he shows the fallacies in some of that evidence and begins to sway others, we begin to understand the background and agenda of each juror through the arguments they voice. The movie is made in a original way, firstly, none of the characters' names are mentioned, secondly, the director films the entire movie using very few scenes, and the majority of the movie was filmed on the one around a table. First you think he's guilty then he's not. It shows how prejudices affect's peoples judgements and one thing that I enjoyed was the way the movie makes you flip sides. The acting in the movie was second to none. The movie is very thought provoking, and the heated debates about the murder are very well acted out, as the whole film hinges on the acting of the cast.
