Athletes

Many schools have had the problem of athletes getting special treatment. Most schools though are ok with favoring athletes over any other student. This story is a perfect example of what athletes really do and what coaches tend not to do. Coach Slaughter, in my opinion, did the right thing. Yes I think the suspended players learned a lesson. They learned that with their actions came consequences and they were all big enough except them. The players, showing up in full uniform after being told there were not going to play, sh

owed that they were truly sorry for their actions. Mike Slaughter is a great example of a real coach. Yeah anyone can scream, yell, and have a fit that"tms not going to change anything or make anything better and unfortunately that"tms what usually happens. Schools look to athletes to make their campuses look good therefore they get treated a little better and don"tmt have to work as hard. Many high schools do favor athletes. Other ethical issue this brings up is how the coach was equal. We would also hope that the communities would not allow or go along with athletes get specical treatment. Honestly in my opinion everywhere you go the coach will have favorites. High school athletes tend to have things a lot easier than any other student because of their performance on the field, or court. They respected the coach"tms decision and agreed that they had to be punished for their actions even though it meant they might be humiliated in front of thousands of people. Along with the guys who were suspended was his son. He could have very well let them all go because his son was involved but he didn"tmt he did the fair thing, the right thing!We would love for all coaches to be equal with all players like Mike Slaughter was but we all know that it wont happen, its almost impossible now a days. Realistically there is no way to deal with this situation. Mike Slaughter is not scared to have people upset with him for punishing players when they need to be punished.
