The heated conflict between Jews and Muslims has always been a gargantuan one and furthermore since the dispute over Palestine. Being raised Muslim and knowing that these two religions were respectively fathered by the sons of Abraham, there seems to be more hostility than agreeable peace. I chose to write on Judaism for that reason, to understand more of what the similarities are between the cousin religions. Also, in modern times, it is hard to directly apply the teachings of religion from what it originated as. That contributes to sectarianism where people follow the teachings in a varied way. I have a small number of Jewish friends who each practice in their own tradition and their knowledge on it varies too. I wanted to learn more about the different types of Jews that evolved and how their race survived in history through their years of wandering. The basic beliefs and characteristics of Judaism begin with patriarchic worship and that God, at that time known as El, had promised Abraham he would father a great nation. The belief in Moses is that he was delivered to the people as the Messiah that would free them from their salvation. God, now referred to as YHWH (Yahweh) spoke to Moses while he was exiled and helped him
But in any case worship is stressed, and for the congregation, a copy of the scripture and ten adult males are required. Importance is also given to prophets associated with the teaching of Judaism. Kabbalahism includes numerology as a form of interpretation. take the Israeli's to their promised land. The first and foremost appealing aspect of Judaism is the various forms of it that one can follow. This is a religion with a lot of holidays which can be linked to their long history and culture. Jews believe that as the chosen people they were to be granted their land. It's remarkable that they survived all that and are unified as a minority wherever they are. The Jewish belief in the scriptures are in the 5 books of Moses, compiled as the Torah or Hebrew bible and as well as the Talmud which comprises of the Mishnah and Gemara. I found the history of Judaism enthralling and gained much appreciation for Jews as a race. My very first observation was about the strength of the Jewish community. They all have the same core values but are practiced in different extremes on a spectrum which is very fascinating to see the religion evolve over time to be so accommodating. It is the act of eating meat butchered in a specific manner and blessed by a rabbi. the kabbalahistic work varies from what orthodox Jews teach but it was a ray of hope for the Jews at a time where they were oppressed and fleeing for safety with dim hope for their lives. Keeping kosher traditions once again vary with the forms of Judaism, but the basic idea of it still is applied with numerous Jews today.
