             Buddhism was founded around 500 B.C. It was founded by Siddhartha Gautama. He is also known as Siddhartha Gutama Buddha. He was born in the year 563 B.C. as the son of a king. He is originally from the religion of Hinduism. Since he was a prince he was kept protected in his palace. In the palace is where he began to question the meaning of life. He then decided to leave the palace. Once he left the palace which he grew up in, he began a journey to learn more about life. In his journey he encountered for the first time in his life people who were poor, sick, and suffering. As a result, he chose to renounce all that he had in an effort to discover why people suffered and how that suffering might be taken away. He wandered a lot, trying to fin religious sages who might help him, but he always ended up largely disappointed. After traveling for several years, he finally attained enlightenment one evening while sitting under a tree, where he decisively conquered temptation and desire. After this he began to get many followers and was given the name Buddha meaning awakened one.
             Buddhism goes in the ideas of what Buddha has taught to reach enlightenment. To reach enlightenment Buddha created the Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path, and the Five precepts. If the Four Noble Truths are followed and the person understands them, the person will reach enlightenment. The first of the Four Noble Truths is the Noble Truth of suffering. This means that the life of human are filled with suffering. The second of the Four Noble Truths is the Noble Truth of the Extinction of Suffering. This is means that suffering is cased by the ideal of maintaining material things or greed. The third of the Four Noble Truths is the Noble Truth of the Extinction of Suffering.
