             Alcohol affects many aspects your body and mental state in that it can damage every single organ in your body. It is obsorbed directly into your bloodstream anc can increase your risk of a variety of life-threatening diseased, including cancer. It also affects your brain in ways that include loss of coordination, poor judgment, slowed reflexes, distorted vision, memory lapses and even blackouts. Alcohol depresses your central nervous system, lowers you inhibitions, and impairs your judgment. Drinking can lead to risky behaviors, including having unprotected sex. This may expose you to HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases or cause unwanted pregnancy.
             Alcohol can kill you. Drinking large amounts of alcohol can lead you to coma or even death. Also in 1998, 35.8 precent in traffic deaths of 15 to 20 year-olds where alcohol-related. Even if your not drinking and the people around you are your at an increased risk of being seriously injured, involved in car crashes, or affected by violence. At the very least you may have to deal with people who are sick out of control, or unable to take care of themselves.
             The law states that you must be 21 to buy or possess alcohol. Indiana law states that "It is a class C misdemeanor for a minor to knowingly: (l) possess an alcoholic beverage; (2) consume it; or (3) transport it on a public highway when not accompanied by at least one of his parents or guardians." The term "minor" is defined by Indiana alcoholic beverage laws as "a person less than twenty-one [21] years of age. There are many laws against minor drinking including some on using false, altered driver's license or the license of another person. If you are cought with an altered license you will have your driver's license revoked for a period of up to one year.
