Existence of God
As any other usual day a marine explorer is out in the sea with his team to explore new things and make some discoveries for a research. Unfortunately, the explorer leaves too far in search of his subject and then mistakenly his team leaves him behind. Suddenly, the man realizes that his ship has left him behind in the wide big ocean with just blue water and no land as far as the eye can see. There seems to be no hope of any ship passing by as they came to explore in an isolated place. Hours have passed with no ship and the explorer's energy rapidly declining to float in the water with each passing hour. In a situation like this, the only hope and the only thing possible is "prayer" that is asking for help from God. After few more hours and constant praying there seems to be a ship coming his way. The people in the ship save his life. Is it a miracle by God who heard his prayers and saved him or just a sheer coincidence that a ship was passing by and saved him? Does God really exist or is it just the imaginary belief of a man when there is no way out of a problem? Philosophers have spent decades trying to solve this mystery. In fact, those who believe in the existence of God have come up with many a
Judeo-Christian and many other religions around the world put forward holy books and stories to prove that God exists. In conclusion, the phenomenon of a supernatural being that created the whole universe and holds the rein of everything existing around is a soothing as well as a precarious feeling. Anyway the very belief of God is a necessity of Man because the concept gives hope to people in trouble and maintains harmony in the world and above all gives a purpose to be good. And the exception given to the principle such as the subatomic particles that did not follow the principle of causality cannot be completely proved and even if they are then they still exist because of something else existed before them. In other words, He is described as the perfect being that has the most superior qualities and is the highest degree in everything. However, as the world exists now then there must have never been "nothing" in time and what exists before everything is God (pg 50). Therefore, there is a possibility that the same being existed all throughout the time. rguments to prove it and those who do not believe in God have come up with equal number of arguments to prove otherwise. The main three arguments that try to prove the existence of God are Cosmological, Teleological, and Ontological Arguments. First of all, to prove the existence of God it is necessary to understand the meaning of God. In the terms of Physics, we can prove that energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it can only change forms. Aquinas is questioned as to why is it necessary to have a cause for everything in the universe? (pg 48) In fact, some physicists have discovered that some sub atomic particles have behaved randomly and therefore they do not follow the principle of causality and therefore it is not necessarily important to have a cause (pg 48). To summarize, the first three arguments can be defined as 1) Motion 2) Causation and 3) Contingency. In addition, I will address some of the objections or criticisms of the cosmological theory and my response to the criticism.
