The Scottish army were better organized and have very fearsome and brave general called Macbeth together with his right hand man banquo they and the armies of the Scottish wiped out the Norwegian rebellion mean while the traitor who was the thane of cawdor has had his title stripped of him and is going to be given to macbeth for his bravely in battle "all hail Macbeth".In the second scene of the play as Banquo and Macbeth ride home from the battle they are met by three witches who exclaim to him and banquo three prophesies to Macbeth they say "All hail Macbeth who shall be king here after"To Banquo he says "shall be less happier than Macbeth but much happier" and then before there eyes the witches simply vanish into the mist and Banquo and Macbeth are left again all on there own. Was Macbeth evil? What is evil? How has the perception of evil changed since Shakespearian times? All these questions will be answered in this essay as I study how Macbeth went from "WORTHY THANE" to "DEAD BUTCHER". Being a brave soldier wasn't what turned Macbeth from "WORTHY THANE" to "DEAD BUTCHER". Being a brave soldier made you a respected man in Elizabethan times and was not evil. Macbeth wants to no more about his future from the witches, this shows us he must believe them because he trust them enough for them to portray his future. At the beginning of the play Macbeth is a thane and a soldier of the king. And Macbeth is crowned king of Scotland. This is rather typical of macbeth's arrogant but lovable character. We and the other characters see him as an extremely patriotic hero as we are informed of his incredibly heroic fighting at war and his gruesome annihilation of his traitors:"till he inseam'd him from the nave to th' chops",The captain informs the king of how Macbeth bloodily executed Macdonwald who betrayed the king. This essay will explore the themes of EVIL in the play of macbeth. The bloodthirsty way he kills traitors of his king is justified because he was doing it on the behalf of his king. When the entire king courts woke up they found the king dead. Even at the end of the Macbeths tragic tale he won't go with out a fight, does this make Macbeth evil or an unbelievable brave soldier? He tries to single handidly fight back a co alition of English and Scottish warriors. However upon arrival at Macbeths castle the king announces his heir, and Macbeth is shocked to find that the witches prediction has not come true he speaks with is with his wife and she tells him he must kill the king. The kings two sons Malcolm and donnalbain fleed to England. I know that he believed in the super natural because not only did he believe th witches he always asked them for more information"stay you imperfect speakers, tell me more".
