Psychlogical disorders

             Psychological disorders are something that plague every person in one way or another. Some people are more affected by it and others float on in life thinking or not realizing that what they experience is a real issue, or problem. For example, obsessive compulsive can be something as small as the order in which Linda puts her clothes on every morning. Pants first, or shirt? Right shoe first, or left? Does it matter? Anorexia can start as early as 7 years old, skipping a meal to be like mommy. While psychological disorders manifest as adulthood begins, it is more so that they develop early in life.
             Many believe that psychological disorders are something that can be easily controlled by the human mind. Others share a different point of view in which thought processes may only be controlled by drugs. These opposing views are equal and both argue good points.
             Thomas Szasz is one of the people who believes in the antecedent view. This is from one of his first publishings that have helped make him the figure of international fame and controversy that he is today. "I submit that today mental illness is widely regarded in a somewhat similar fashion, that is, as the cause of innumerable diverse happenings. As an antidote to the complacent use of the notion of mental illness-- whether as a self evident phenomenon, theory, or cause-- let us ask this question: What is meant when it is asserted that someone is mentally ill?" Szasz, originally born in Budapest in the year 1920, came to America in 1938. After graduating with honors in physics in 1941, he does enter University of Cincinnati and receives a M.D. in 1944. He also has extensive training from the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.
