The principle ideological fact

The principle ideological factors of Liberalism and ConservatismIdeology is a system of ideas, or a vision of how life should be organized. In the United States, people may be classified as liberals, conservatives, or somewhere in between. The real philosophical differences between the United States political parties are that the Republicans occupy conservative positions and in most cases the Democrats liberal. In order to explain political ideology, I will discuss these concepts by examining the philosophies of liberalism and conservatism and by giving examples of two contemporary political issues from each from each viewpoint. Using issues from the 2000 Presidential election campaign, I will illustrate how George W. Bush and Al Gore parties' platform differed and in some ways were similar on the subjects of abortion and environmental issues based on their political ideology. Conservatism has been defined as a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing established institutions, and preferring gradual development to abrupt change. However, conservatives do not resist change per se, but rather certain types of change. Thus, they do not seek to co

Bush who proved by using his centrist stage during his 2000 presidential campaign; he gained the support of women and Hispanics who would generally support a liberal candidate. He has blocked funds to international family planning groups that offer abortions and abortion counseling. Bush on the other hand, has always been pro-life supporting abortions only in the case of a woman's life being severely threatened by her pregnancy. " There have been attempts at proposing anti abortion laws in the State of Georgia, that would have obviously conflicted with freedom of abortion access as ruled by the U. Conservatives view society as a moral community, rather than as an association pursuing a common purpose, whether this is understood as the maximization of pleasure, production, freedom or equality. Both parties usually take up opposing positions on abortion, gun control, gay rights and medical care . Environmental issues are another concern on the Presidential platform. This subject can also be coined the great divide because this issue clearly shows how the ideas and beliefs of a particular ideology differ. He also made no mention of clean water and he opposed the ban on logging in roadless areas of national forests. Gore believed that when the term 'strict constructionists' are used, those are code words for saying that the soon to be President Bush would appoint people who would overturn Roe vs. Nearly half of all Americans hold seemingly contradictory positions on the value of human life when asked about their support for abortion so it doesn't surprise me that politicians also has that blurred vision when it comes to the topic abortion.
