             The responsibilities and duties commonly associated with auto body and related repairs may include: fixing bent bodies, remove dents, and replace parts which are severely damaged. Different vehicles from different manufacturers may present different
             problems, because of the way they were brought together. The repairer usually works on all kinds of vehicles but tends to work on small cars and trucks. As a repairer one must come up with different ideas to troubleshoot certain problems. The faster a person repairs a vehicle the more money he/she makes.
             The future outlook for automotive body repair is expected to increase because as the number of motor vehicles increase, so do automobile accidents. As the population grows so do the people who drive automobiles. A lot of jobs will open when more of the older workers retire making more room for fresh job openings. Although the repair industry is not impacted much by economic conditions, so a lot of people are rarely laid off. When business is slow, workshops will hire fewer employees and cutback on spending.
             The educational requirements for this job are minimal. In most shops , most employers tend to hire a person who has had formal training. Although training may be helpful , one must have hands on training to acquire the most knowledge. One must have good reading, mathematics, and computer skills to succeed in the business. Generally to be skilled in all areas of body repairs , one must have close to 3 to 4 years on hands on experience .A recognized standard of achievement is available called (ASE) Automotive Service Excellence which is issued through a completion of multiple tests. ASE certification offers a series of exams for repair professionals twice a year . After obtaining the license, a repairer must retake the exam after a period of 5 years to retain certification.
