fifth element
Luc Besson spent the first years of his life following his parents, scuba diving instructors, around the world. His early life was entirely aquatic. He already showed amazing creativity as a youth, writing early drafts of Le Grand bleu (1988) and The Fifth Element (1997), as an adolescent bored in school. He planned on becoming a marine biologist specializing in dolphins until a diving accident at age 17 which rendered him unable to dive any longer. He moved back to Paris, where he was born, and only at age 18 did he first have an urban life or television. He realized that film was a medium which he could combine all his interests in various arts together, so he began taking odd jobs on various films. He moved to America for three years, then returned to France and formed Les Films de Loups - his own production company, which later changed its name to Les Films de Dauphins. He is now able to dive again. Here is his filmography as a producer. The films with a * next to them are in English.Special police (2004) (in production) *Transporter 2, The (2005) (pre-production)
She is the keeper of the four sacred stones that Korben and Leeloo are searching for. At first the priests and Korben do not get along but after they begin to realise the peril they are in they forgive each other and unite for the common good and in the end also Korben and Leeloo fall in love after their initial differences, mainly the issue of him trying to kiss her was to blame for that. The FutureThe future depicted in the film is shown as being very high-tech and space age. Everything is computerised; no-one has to do anything besides go to work. They are dealt with in a simple way that is very obvious to the viewers. CharactersKorben Dallas -- The main character in the film. He is initially approached by the Federal Military to find the stones and nearly turns the mission down, until Leeloo makes an appearance and, somehow Korben is inspired! He can use any weapon, fly any ship, and he used to be a fighter pilot for the Federal Military. They seem to have been surgically implanted into her to protect them, as the Mondoshawan do not entirely trust Earth. Only the fifth element can stop the Evil from extinguishing life, as it tries to do every five thousand years. The main reason why I think it is so successful is because it doesn't overdo it with any of these categories; it is a very well balanced film and has something to offer everyone, no matter what you like. During the movie, she speaks a divine language which is understood solely by Father Cornelius: a priest set to keep guard over the temple and prepare for the supreme being's arrival. She gets Korben into and out of a lot of trouble on the search for the stones.
