Napoleon Bonaparte
were Carlo and Napoleon Bonaparte was born at Ajaccio, on the Island of Corsica, August 15th, 1769. His parents Letizia Bounaparte. He had 12 brothers and sisters but five of them died when they were young children. His family was a noble family in France, since the year before the Island of Corsica was pronounced part of France. When Napoleon was ten, he was enrolled at Brienne, a Royal Military School. He graduated as a Second Lieutenant, the lowest officer rank of artillery, at age 16. He was constantly teased about his height since he was only five foot two inches tall. He was often called "Little Corsican." He began to fight and swim to gain strength, to avoid the harsh names. He tried to enroll in the Corsican's Patriots, but they were thought to be pro-French. His family left Corsica in April of 1793, shortly after the Civil War broke out.He was sent to Valence, where he studied history and geography in his spare time. He was then asked to join Jacobins, who was trying to dislodge the British Army. He was promoted to a captain and fought at Toulon. His help in defeating the British, allowed him to get promoted to the lowest ranking general, a brigadier general. In 1796, he met and married Josephine de Beauha
He was sent to Elba where he was put in prison. This changed the once strong armies into weak and humiliated armies. Napoleon escaped and returned to Paris. He then married Marie Louise, who happened to be the daughter of the Austrian emperor, Francis I. He continued to force himself into other countries and won may battles. All of his courageous actions made him the idol of most of Europe. He fought with the governor and still had some followers while he was in prison. So, Napoleon left and went back to France. He came back and noticed that everyone was against him. He marched his troops all through North Italy and defeated anyone who came in his path. He rejected and everyone continued to advance. Napoleon had decided to invade Russia. He died May 5, 1821 from stomach cancer.
