A comparison of art in the age
The Middle Ages, the Early Renaissance, and the High Renaissance are only three ages individually but as a whole helped shape our modern philosophies and ideas of art and influenced generations of artists among them, Leonardo Da Vinci, Giovanni Bellini, and Giotto. Among there many works of art there stand out to me these three. Vitruvian Man 1492(Leonardo Da Vinci), Feast of the Gods (Giovanni Bellini), and Christus Rex (Giotto). The Late Gothic is the bridge between the Middle Age and the Renaissance. The Crusades and trade that followed from them brought an influx of Byzantine art and artists to western Europeans. This influence appears strongly in the emotionalism of a large wooden crucifixes and icons. Although they are still Byzantine in style, they were becoming more 'Western' in treatment. Through these connections many literary works of classical antiquity were brought to the West. The new age began in the 14th century, where lawyers and notaries imitated ancient Latin style and studied Roman archaeology. The novel unification of the characteristic style in art in Europe also took place at the end of the fourteenth century. The new hegemony was the consequence of a multifarious exchange of various artistic ideas and had l . . .
The spiritual content of painting changed - subjects from Roman history and mythology were borrowed. Bellini's historical importance is immense. He was the son of Jacopo and brother of Gentile Bellini. The art characterize rediscovery of the third dimension, of real and measurable space and architectural vocabulary based on the study of Classical structures. The term renaissance means rebirth and is used to mark an era of broad cultural achievement as a result of renewed interest in the classical art and ideas of Ancient Greece and Rome. The rediscovery of classical world radically altered the art of painting. In my opinion these three works of art along with the sheer genius of the men that created them, is what created our very structure and creativities of today’s artist and tomorrows visionaries. In his paintings, figures, space, light, architecture, and sometimes landscape were balanced with seemingly effortless perfection to achieve a complex but harmonious image of serene grandeur. The idea of an illusionary reconstruction of a three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface also implies that the reality perceived through one's senses acquires a new artistic meaning. It is difficult to point out the place and the time where the style came into being. In the mid-1460s the family settled in Florence, where Leonardo was given the best education that Florence could offer. Later da Vinci became the court artist for the duke of Milan. Most of the Early Renaissance works in northern Europe were produced between 1420 and 1550. That style was named the International Gothic. Renaissance marks the period of European history at the close of the middle Ages and the rise of the Modern world.
