Love Actually

"Love Actually," is a romantic comedy about the twists and turns that people go through when in love. The movie looks into the lives of several characters to show the ups and downs that they encounter in their relationships. Each couple had their own set of barriers to overcome. Some of the problems dealt with were cultural and gender bias, infidelity, and just everyday things that make being in love a hard task.
Through out the movie there is so much going on. There is the plight of the horny outcast who couldn't find a good lay in his country so he traveled to America with the misconception that all American women loved guys with English accents. Then there's the perfect universal family who is put to the test when a saucy vixen comes into the picture, and infidelity rears its ugly head. Next there is the Prime Minister and his struggle with dating a vivacious young woman who is not of the same background or breeding as him. This is just to name a few of the scenarios given in the film. This whimsical tale of love can be seen from several different points of view. It takes a humorous look at what so many people deem important when dealing with life and love.
Colin is a sex crazed young man who can not buy a date in England. Whenever he tries to get with a woman they shoot him down. He doesn't have the best pick up lines, and he's a bit crude, but he somehow gets the idea that he can't get any women because English women are snobs. He doesn't think that it his approach at all that turns them off, and decides that he will get more play in America. He reasons that all American women are attracted to guys with cute English accents. Ironically enough, he ends up hooking up with four women in America the same night that he lands, three of whom he met in a bar. They were in fact attracted to his cute English accent.
