Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar was a man of great power, who many looked to for advice and help. When he was murdered, many were in pain and some rejoiced. Even Caesar's friend, Brutus, helped kill him and was even the last to stab. The reason for his death was because he was gaining too much power, too quickly. For the people who were power hungry themselves, they were happy to see him dead, but for those who could care less it was a blow to their society. Antony, a follower of Julius, was very grateful of the power of others. Antony said, "When Caesar says 'Do this.' it is performed," he showed us that some people obey the powerful
Power is a very dependable and yet is undependable at the same time. Caesar would have become very scared that something may happen. He shows us that power can easily take control over someone's body and mind, and makes them feel unstoppable. When we hear Caesar say, "I am as constant as the northern star," it is like he is flourishing in his power and will never change his ways. We hear Cassius say, " I will kill myself before Caesar grows in power. Although he may have been a little hungry for power he didn't show it, and he never gave any sign to it. Caesar says, "He [Brutus] thinks too much, such men are dangerous. Although Caesar was great man, many were afraid of the power that was capable of being reached by a man like Caesar. Cassius, who disliked all the power Caesar had, he shows that some people can be jealous of power. With power comes a large burden, and Caesar begins to feel this onus. Antony was a good friend of Caesar, who obeyed his every command. " Caesar can tell that Brutus doesn't like the power Caesar is holding. " Some people were afraid of the power that was held by others.
