             Ultimately, Romeo and Juliet both committed suicide and died. Their deaths in the end were both straightforward. Romeo had returned to Juliet and thought she was dead after drinking what he believed to be a poison potion. Romeo drank real poison and died. Juliet awoke from her sleep to find Romeo dead. She then tried to drink the rest of the potion so she could also die but she failed. So she then used Romeo's dagger to stab herself to death.
             However, the reasons that lead to this situation and were therefore behind their deaths are far more complex and detailed. Romeo and Juliet had a deep and strong love for one another. They were bound together in love and essentially wanted to be with one another for eternity. The causes of their deaths include, Tybalt (who made it his mission to prevent the marriage of Romeo and Juliet), the depth of their love for each other, their impatience to be together and not wanting to be separated (it would feel like there was no meaning and use left in life if they were apart), and the general fate of their lives. The primary cause of the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, however, was their unending love for one another.
             There are number of characters that made a big contribution towards the death of Romeo and Juliet. Tybalt, the cousin of Juliet, interferes with Romeo and Juliet's relationship. Right from the start, Tybalt sees the attendance of Romeo at the party as an insult as it is a Capulet party (Juliet's family) not a Montague party (Romeo's family). At the party, Tybalt vows to revenge Romeo's intrusion the next day. Romeo got into the party as the servant that was at the door couldn't read the list to see that he hadn't really been invited. Tybalt is always watching what Romeo and Juliet are doing to make sure that nothing happens between the two of them, and also made things up about the two of them.
