Trap-Ease

             1. Martha and the Trap-Ease America investors need more information to evaluate their one in a lifetime opportunity. First, they need to make sure that women are their best target market. Even though early research shows that women would be more willing to buy the Trap-Ease mousetrap, what about people who own camps or have basements in their homes. The people at Trap-Ease also have to rethink their marketing strategy. Obviously it is not working because people are not buying their product, and the customers they are getting aren't repeat buying. Are they distributing to the right places? Are they pricing their product too expensive? And are they advertising their product by showing the advantages of this new mousetrap? Also there is a problem for the company because the expected demand for the trap had not materialized; however, the demand from the customers they do have is not being reached (i.e. truck arriving late to deliver to the retailer warehouse).
             I don't think that the group would do well writing a mission statement for their company because they don't really know exactly how to make their mouse trap sound different from the others at market.
             My mission statement: To provide our customers with award winning, one of a kind mousetraps that are affordable and easy and safe to use.
             2. I don't believe that Martha had identified the best target market for Trap-Ease. Instead of using a gender market segment, Martha and the other Trap-Ease America investors should be focusing on marketing segments such as: Use-based Segment, Benefit Segment, or Geographic Segment.
             Use-based- Frequency of usage. The reason behind people not repeat buying is because people may only use mousetraps once in a while, or if they spot a mouse, or if they know if they are going to a place where a mice will be.
