The challenger disaster
There were many great and significant events that happened while the United States was under the rule of Ronald Reagan. One of the major events also had to do with the United States evolvement in going to "The moon and beyond" as President Jonathan Fitzgerald Kennedy had stated. We (The United States) had already made it far in that vision by visiting the moon and stunning the world with being the first country to land on another Planet. Along with that came the adventure to put people into space for various science experiments or just for no reason at all besides the reason of needing to know if NASA could put another person into space and get them back to earth successfully. "On January 28, 1986 America was shocked by the destruction of the space shuttle Challenger, and the death of its seven crew members." Through this paper you will see how this unfortunate accident had an impact on the American way and how our president at the time handled this situation. The Crew consisted of seven people. The were Francis R. Scobee, Michael J. Smit
NASA could have learned from their mistakes and tried to find out about what went wrong and tried to send another female teacher in space. In any situation there could always be more done, and something better/ better concern could have been taken. Every one of them saw the explosion happen right before their eyes. Throughout her voyage she was to have kept a journal, inspired by the journals of the pioneer women who left their homes in search of a new frontier. Christa was not just going into space to be called the first woman in space. Providing details, what did you specifically and factually know of this event at the time it occurred? When I first found out about the Challenger exploding all I knew was that something had been wrong with the fuel pipes that had caused and explosion. The first explosion of a space shuttle was not just any explosion. Jarvis, a payload specialist, worked for the Hughes Aircraft Corp.
