             There are many benefits that one can undergo as one grow in age. Most of the benefits and developments that one undergoes are positive and something to look forward to. As the individual awakens to move up into the forties and fifties there are changes and benefits. This may make the person worry about his or her future as an elderly person.              Society helps many senior citizens pay for the cost of their health care through Medicare. Medicare is a Federal health insurance program that provides hospital and medical coverage to anyone who is over the age of 65, who has paid into Social Security, and who meets other qualifications. When someone files for Social Security that person usually is filing for Medicare too, because they are combined. Medicare offers coverage for inpatient hospital care, inpatient skilled nursing facility care, home health care, and hospice care. AS the younger generations pay into the Social Security Fund, they are helping the older generations pay for their increased medical costs. When elderly become older, the younger generations will be helping them pay increased medical costs just like they helped the generations before them.
             In addition, Social security is a government program that helps workers and retired workers and their families achieve a degree of economic security. Social security also called social insurance provides cash payments to help replace income lost as a result of retirement, unemployment, disability, or death. The program also helps pay the cost of medical care for people age 65 or older and for some disabled workers. About one-sixth of the people in the United States receive social security benefits.
