what is truth
One cannot simply define the meaning of truth because it is so ambiguous. The word "truth" differs greatly from a word like "apple" that has an immediate visual connotation, and is easily and unequivocally defined. "Truth" however, is an intangible and equivocal concept with inanimate and ineffable traits. So in order for one to define truth, one must first incontrovertibly accept that truth is not limited to one simple definition. Due to it's ambiguity, truth has a versatility to it that can be applied in various scenarios rendering it's meanings to be relative to it's context. Truth is a concept comprised of two fundamental facets; the universal truth, and the individual truth. Now that truth has been categorized into it's two contexts, I can define truth as, "the one and only current possibility or view that is logically, morally or empirically uncontested with absolute certainty." It must be noted though that the concept of absolute truth does not exist and cannot exist without objectivity. I will establish that objectivity is a theory (illusion) but not a reality and as a result it is subjectivity that fuels what we consider to be true. In order to further analyze truth, the two contexts ,unto which truth can be applie
In a field like science where we continually disprove formerly accepted truths, we can see that truth in science is but relative to time, and to is current state. This proves that two contrasting views can both be true, and the contradictory truths are rectified by the fact that truth is subjective. This also proves that there is no certainty in life and in essence without certainty there can be no absolute truth just universal and individual truth. But for the sake of argument, if I were with god, since he created the universe with all it's vast infinities, G-d could tell me what has been intended and what is true. The man is clearly not lying for his perceptions are subject to his senses just like the rest of the world. (this appears to have a Socratic flavour of accepting ignorance) While it is granted that truth is relative in a situation where the individual and universal truth differs, what happens if they coincide. This ability to change creates a living paradox within the context of truth, because in essence there is no absolute truth in what is true when truth can contradict itself. From the future point of view the belief is not true, but is that to say that at the time that the belief was uncontested it was not true. The only possible refutation that I have surmised that could prove that there is an absolute truth would be the concept of God, which in essence is unprovable. Since truth has been proven to be subjective ,truth I shall posit, is therefore mutable and is thus subject to change. It must be noted that a universal truth is also subjective because it is simply a unified truth contingent on the senses (which are subjective). However, that falsification does not render the thought or concept to be untrue at the time that it was conceived. We can hitherto posit that truth is relative and thus subjective.
