The Mid Atlantics

             The Mid-Atlantic region is a part of the United States of America and is located near the Atlantic Ocean in the North Eastern part of the U.S. in the Middle Eastern part of North America. The history of the region goes back to the beginning of the United States. It was one of the original thirteen colonies. There war history while not the most impressive was never the less important to the war effort to break away from England. And in winning the civil war, this region however was one of the main areas that still contained a lot of loyalists to England however. But eventually either came around or just never spoke of there continued allegiance.
             The celebrations and feasts of the region are New Year's in New York. Thanksgiving, celebrating the first settlers of the United States and their cooperation with the Indians (Native Americans). Where such foods as turkey, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberries, and pumpkin pie are served. Their official language is English with a lot of slang versions of the dialect depending on which area you are in. Some festivals are Woodstock - Film Festival Sherman - O. U. R. Music Festival, New York - International Dance Festival-NYC, Brasstown - Fall Festival, Riverhead - Blues Festival, Syracuse - NY Rhythm and Blues Festival.
