Adam Mayblum and the World Trade Center

             On September the eleventh, 2001 terrorist overtook two planes and flew them into the World Trade Center. In the time after the two buildings were hit they eventually fell down. As the North Tower was crumbling and people's lives were at risk, one man's normal day at the office soon changed and Adam Mayblum was instantly turned into a hero.
             Adam Mayblum quickly reacted. He grabbed coworkers and secured their safety for the moment under doorways. At first everyone in the building thought a bomb went off and had no idea that a plane had crashed into the building. After the tower stopped swaying from the blast he quickly gathered everyone to proceed down the stairs, and tried his best to make sure no one was left behind.
             One of his biggest struggles was with one of his good friends who he has known for years. His friend wanted to stay on his floor in the collapsing building, and Adam and other co-workers were trying to get him to go down the stairs with them but he didn't want to budge. Too much time was going by so eventually they had to move on and continued down the stairs. Adam knew he did the right thing by carrying on but was very upset about this and couldn't stop thinking about his friend during his journey.
             During his adventure down the stairs he tried his best to raise spirits and support people in need. Adam Mayblum tried his best to ease and relieve the tension, and he even made a joke about ruining a brand new pair of Merrell shoes. As the people continued to walk down the stairwell the smoke had gotten heavier so he quickly ripped his shirt and gave pieces of it to other people so they could breathe easier.
             On the way down Adam came upon an overweight man who was tired and couldn't make it down the rest of the way. Adam tried to help him by doing anything in his power to save the man.
