             The employees represent the company's thoughts and image. When managers and employees compose letters, presentations, memos, emails, and other correspondence, a message is conveyed about the company that cannot be reversed. If a presentation is made in a professional manner using good writing skills, both the employee and the company benefit. However, when a presentation is done poorly, everyone suffers. Many companies turn to writing workshops to help their employees with their grammar and writing skills. These workshops may often be cost effective for the company. By implementing such training courses and workshops, the business will benefit in the long term due to employees who are more knowledgeable. This will ultimately lead to an improved image for the company and its representatives.
             Our company needs a writing workshop for all employees in order to improve internal and external communications. We often waste time at work explaining emails and correspondence; if the correspondence were written properly the first time, we would not have to explain it a second time. Many times, I will open an email from a coworker and find a word misspelled or an incomplete sentence. I never forget that email or who sent it to me because of the writing. However, when a well-written email or memo is sent to me, I feel inspired and motivated.
             It is important to have effective writing at work because the way employees communicate is a reflection of the company. Recently, a communication was distributed to the entire company that was not suitable. The communication was in reference to dress code. Many words were spelled incorrectly, indicating that no revision or second review was done. This memo caused many disputes in the office because of the inappropriate terms used to describe the dress code issues. Improperly composed memos, written in this manner, without review can lead to low morale and hurt feelings.
