prayer in school
A person's education is one of the most important factors in determining whether or not they will become a productive member of society. That is why when considering an education the quality of the education is almost as important as the education itself. When private schools came into the picture a debate began regarding the quality of public and private schools. Facing the technological revolution that we are going through without a good quality education, a person will be left behind. Even though public and private schools are separate institutions they both have to follow certain guidelines so there are many similarities but also many differences between the two. Both types of school systems have the intentions of giving their students the best education within their means. Both have educated professionals that have decided to devote their careers to furthering the education of our youth. They each have set up rules hoping to cultivate a positive learning environment. Standardized testing is used in both as a tool to evaluate the progress of their students. These tests can also assist in accessing the weaknesses and ultimately improve the curriculum they have composed. Private and public schools sponsor clubs and volunteer
This allows them to better relate to the people and build self-esteem. The most important thing to me is the high standards they set. One educational researcher, George Conway, said "Small school size positively influences the overall culture of the school, which in turn could lead to a variety of positive outcomes for students attending private schools. Most private schools focus on preparation for college, whereas public schools cater more to preparation for vocational occupations. groups that help people in their surrounding community. Furthermore, the majority of public teachers have a higher education level. Children in private schools do not have congested classrooms. " (xxxxx) This gives the teacher the opportunity to devote more one on one time to each student. Moreover, Catholic high schools send a greater percentage of students to college than public schools. These differences hold true for both new and experienced teachers. The educational standards of today's schools need to be set high. Public and private schools should work together to improve the education standards in today's society. One of the classic pieces of evidence that is mentioned in support of the superiority of private schools is a study by James Coleman, Thomas Hoffer, and Sally Kilgore. Yet another difference between public and private schools is the religious factor.
