She wants to pursued us to share her point of view.As with most magazine articles the headline and photograph are intended to grab our attention as we flick through the pages. On this occasion the picture is missing, in the original article a picture was used but somebody obviously felt it was too graphic for a School piece.The introduction in this article uses strong emotive language to capture the writers (Beverly Kemp) opinion on the subject concerned. At the start she tells us website names promoting anorexia and Bulimia (ana-mia) such as websites with the title; Sharp Bones, Dying to be thin, Stick Figures and many more. In the next paragraph we hear about people who have been diagnosed with anorexia. She starts off by telling us about a girl who found the websites whilst browsing the Internet and how she visits the websites at least once a day. In the same paragraph, the next person we are told about is a girl who writes on the message boards within websites, she tells us she practises vomiting in the shower to stop her parents hearing her and that she weighs herself before a binge. Using victims of all ages and a variety of conditions. Then she pukes to the weight she was before and somebody is congratulating her for it. In one part of the introduction she says, "These are pro anorexia and bulimia websites owned and visited by young women". The next part Beverly tells us that several of the websites list "Ana's Ten Commandments". Beverly then goes on to tell us about an ex-professional 34-year-old dancer who is a mother of two daughters. She says to exchange how - to tips with like-minded individuals. The next paragraph is entitled "only for the dedicated". The advice Beverly tells us about says; "Eat ice cubes during cravings/stay cold/when wanting food. The last part of this paragraph we are told that young girls are encouraged to leave. Paint your nails do anything bur eat". out the members of these such websites telling us that people join from there early teens to there late 30's and also adding in the fact that the numbers are primarily female.
