This just shows that today, Barbie might still be a very popular toy, but its influence of “the perfect look” image is not strong enough to be a bad example to children. In fact, the music and fashion industry have the most input on the final decision of how we should look today and tomorrow. TV Program VH1 always shows a rating of “The Most something” celebrities. Also, I believe that the media has enough input on people’s opinions and restricting kids to play with Barbies is just another attempt to get more control over mass population. Clearly, it is pretty much the same as the present day standards.

Finally, I think that there will always be easy-influenced people who will repeat anything attractive they see and by just eliminating Barbie dolls we are not getting rid of the problem. So many girls go to plastic surgeons to get breast implant and liposuction operations. The Ken doll was named after Ruth's son. Also, a lot of people are getting constructive facial surgery. Most fashion magazines such as Vogue, GQ, and Stuff, TV shows such as The Ultimate Makeover, I Want A Famous Face, America’s Next Top Model and radio shows like Howard Stern, KTU and Z100 talk about celebrities, how they look and what they wear. Emily Prager implies that a man made Barbie when she states “I used to look at Barbie and wonder, what’s wrong with this picture? What kind of woman designed this doll?”(p.
