Hello my name is Greg Stewart, and I have been attending Bucks County Technical High School for three years now. I am currently 17 years old and in the junior class. Also I'm in Civil Engineering Technology with Mr. Hale. I came to Bucks County Technical High School for many of reasons. The most important reason was because I wanted to learn a career and yet still get a normal education and still be in high school. Also I came here to get out of going to Neshaminy High School because I didn't really favor what they had as academic major choices. During the exploratory program in ninth grade, I went through at the time 26 technical programs. After like the first couple of shops, I really enjoyed welding and baking. But when it was time to choose my shop towards the end of the exploratory program I had Civil Engineering as my first choice, Collision Repair as my second and Computer Information as my final choice. The reason I chose Civil was because I am very good at math skills and I am somewhat creative in designing things. Also I liked the idea of how much money I can earn in the engineering profession. So far for my high school career, I have learned a lot of information from Mr. Hale and from what is around in the
Instead of going straight into the sewer main the pipe has to turn at a 45-degree angle with the flow of the sewer main. " "Hatch" allows the user to fill in a space with a symbol such as the box-graph. In this menu I clicked on center map on plot and this automatically centers on the map on to the paper. In the second window I started a new file for the sewer profile plan. According to Practical Surveying AutoCAD is a program that can design anything from cars to buildings to kitchen appliances. I followed this step until all of the intervals were solved for and since the final one is on 22. First this project has helped me to be able to meet deadlines and has helped me increase my problem solving skills in my shop and in life. The special problem being solved is how to show a problem solving method for future students on how to get sewage from a house, to go uphill to the sewer main than from there run on gravity where it is taken to the sewage treatment plant. Now having the "polar" control I drew a line straight down into the graph section and I repeated this for the other side and the other manhole. For my project, what I had to do, it all worked on the first time and I reached my goal for this project. The Special Problem that I have solved is that for future students in the Civil Engineering Technology Shop they now have a resource. Robert Hale, my shop teacher who has taught me everything I know in the Civil Engineering field and also for helping with my graduation project. So next I drew this 45-degree angle line in to the sewer main and placed a three-foot offset on that too. Now it is on to placing the sewer main on the survey plan on the other AutoCAD window. I would like to take this time to thank you all for observing my graduation project presentation.
