Rickets

The childhood of a normal person is filled with jumping, climbing, running, crawling, and they are blessed with an undeniable propensity to laugh at least every few minutes. Childhood is grand. Many adults love it so much that they never quite leave it behind. Unfortunately, some children do not get to live as a full a life as others. Some children are stricken with terrible diseases at birth and little can be done to help them. Some children though, are victims of another type of disease - A disease that is quite preventable but incurable. This disease in question is Rickets. The main purpose of this Document is to examine the disease Rickets and answer three primary questions are what are Rickets?, what causes Rickets?, and what can be done to prevent Rickets? Unlike a few other countries, the North America populous need not necessarily worry about the onset of diseases caused by vitamin deficiencies. Most people living in the United States and Canada consume fortified foods that supply the needed vitamins and minerals. However, even these foods are not always sufficient because there are those people that do not have the monetary resources to purchase these foods or the wrong foods are consumed.
