In 1503, even though Copernicus did not complete his studies, he received a doctorate in Canon Law from Ferrara. One of the major flaws in the Copernican system was his predictions of planetary movement. After a few experiments demonstrating how gravity could hold various objects together while spinning, and also experiments where objects were being pulled by something that they spun around it, Copernicus proved the rationality of his gravitational claims. The sun, he thus concluded, was the center force pulling earth towards it. Ecclesiastes 1 states that: "But the earth abideth forever.
