Grendel

In the story Grendel seems to be doing nothing wrong, in his eyes he is not doing anything wrong. In the story Beowulf, Grendel seems like a terrible monster. Grendel thinks to himself that he is just living his normal life everyday, eating people like nothing is happening or anything is wrong. When people see Grendel they are terrified and scared of the man eating monster, he comes to town every evening and has a feast, He eats as much humans as he possible can then goes back to town.

When Grendel sets his mind to doing something and he finishes what his goals are thinking no one will get in his way, but then Beowulf comes along. On a daily basis Grendel would walk into town, feast on people, and cause some mischief. Grendel is isolated from civilization because he is a monster. Grendel yearns for a chance to be a part of a community, just as many readers my age probably do. He finds himself confused about the meaning of his life. Instead, he is shunned for his existence. He notices the beauty in life along with the absurdities. e run he thinks they are hiding from them. Therefore, Grendel is a lot like a teenager himself. Grendel is an outsider, yet there are many instances in the book where he shows a need to be accepted. In Grendels mind he wasn’t doing anything wrong. When he is finally aware that he cannot join the human race, he decides that the next best thing he can do is destroy it

Teenagers are in a stage of their lives in which they search for acceptance. Grendel Got scared after Beowulf Bent his fingers back, showing that Grendel was just a big ugly monster bossing everyone around, wrong. He is constantly learning, growing, and discovering new things.
