             In this case Jack failed to employ a suitable human resource management process through which the recruiting and selection process should have been executed. The first case in which Jack falls short is the selection process. Firstly one should avoid discriminatory questions such as when Jack asked the potential candidate if she was married and whether or not she intended to have any children. Then it was stated in the case study that Jack and Sue merely asked any question that came to mind in the interviewing process which is highly inefficient at determining suitability to the job as this can only be done if a carefully thought out set of questions are asked to the candidates to which there differing replies can be evaluated and compared against one another. Jack and Sue then set out to eliminate the candidates through superficial means such as not liking the appearance of the first candidate and having an aversion to the third candidates voice which in no way says anything about their competence in the workplace. Another shortcoming is that Jack did not inform Elsabie on what was expected of her and because of such an omission their was customer dissatisfaction as general chaos ensued. (Introduction to Business Management.Oxford University Press,2004) The faulty computer was also most definitely an inhibiting factor for Elsabie and the rest of the business as how can she be expected to work efficiently on an inefficient,obsolete computer.
             The main reason for implementing recruitment schemes is to ensure that there are a sufficient amount of applicants that apply for the job.
