Major uprisings that challenged the old order of Europe in the first half of the 1800's.1.1820's- Russians believed serfdom must end 2. 1821- Major Greek revolt broke out againsit the Ottoman Turks. Greeks. Greels demanded that their country take it's place among the nation.-States of Europe. The had a lot of support from Russians, and educated Europeans and Americans they won in 1827, Wuth the help of the British, Franch and Russians fleet who destroyed the Ottoman Fleet. In 1830 they signed a tready declaring full independence. . . .
December 1848- Louis Napoleon won the presidential election who led France to prosperity. Belgiums decalred independence from Dutch control. He was kicked out of the France by the rioters. During the 1800's, these groups were writing into nations and building industries to survive among other nation states. 1856- Russia's lack of development caused them to lose the crumean war against France, Great Britian and the Ottomman Empire. The ideal that sparked most of these Revolts, was nationalism. he attempted to modernize Russia but did not fully achieve his goals, he was assassinated in 1881. - Nationalist riots broke out against Dutch rule in Brussels Belgium, In November 1830. Lamartine wanted only political reform and Louis Blance alsp wanted social and economic reform. 1830- King Charles X of France tried to return France to an absolute monarchy.
