JFK

What Really happened November 22, 1963On November 22, 1963, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, the thirty-fifth President of the United States, was assassinated at the Daley Plaza. The assassination of Kennedy still remains a mystery. Throughout this essay the assassination will be evaluated and examined to help get a better idea of what happened and who did it. The main theory and the theory that was documented by officials is that a single assailant committed the assassination of Kennedy: Lee Harvey Oswald, a twenty seven year old ex United States Marine. The Warren Commission, also known as the assassination committee, investigation reports stated that Oswald fired three shots from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository. One of the bullets strayed and hit James Togue, a nearby standing pedestrian, in the cheek. Another bullet struck JFK and Texas Governor John Connally, who was seated in front of JFK. The last bullet, which was the fatal shot, struck Kennedy in the head. The lone assassin theory leaves many unanswered questions and therefore cannot be adequate. First of all, the three shots were fired in 5.6 seconds, which is a considerably short time span for even the greatest marine to execute. The number of hol

(Garrison, On the Trial of the Assassins, 218) William Newman and his wife were standing in front of the Knoll during the parade and recalled that the limo was in front of them when Kennedy was shot. Naval Medical Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland, the Secret Service were the only people who had access to the body. Another witness, Malcolm Summers, said that when the shots ended, everyone ran toward the knoll as if they were going to catch the assassin(s). Ruby shot Oswald because he began to talk, telling officials that he was just a patsy. The Killing of a President pg 150) Obviously, if Oswald was guilty of the assassination, he was not alone. The CIA and FBI helped Oswald get the job at the Depository so that he would be in direct sight of the limo. Abraham Zapruder's eight-millimeter home video shows that Kennedy was hit in his forehead, putting the gunman in front of the limo. es (bullet wounds), which was four, found in Kennedy exceeds far more than just three hits, thus blowing the "lone assassination" theory out of the water. She identified Jack Ruby as the man she saw getting into a truck near the grassy knoll. (Waggoner The Assassination of President Kennedy 145)I believe that with these facts, it appears that overall, Jack Ruby and Lee Harvey Oswald are the killers, or the ones who pulled the trigger, but the FBI and CIA helped with the assassination and Johnson persuaded them to do so, and then helped to cover it all up for them. Kennedy's reactions after being shot show that he was hit from the front, because he grabbed the front of his throat indicating that he was shot from the front. " (Lane Plausible Denial 115) All the information remains clear that the FBI, CIA, the Mafia and members, and President Johnson all had something to do with Kennedy and could benefit from his death in different ways. The secret service also did not provide Kennedy with an armored car, but the CIA and the FBI had four of them, although the agencies claimed they had none.
