Many of the colonists had a strong hatred toward Britain after the war, but Rev. He felt that the British had created a new era of peace and freedom, they were safe from the Indians and the French. Later in 1763 the Treaty of Paris was made which took French power off of North America. In 1763 a British order in council proclaimed that Britain needed to stop practicing salutary neglect because they were not receiving the money they needed, due to smuggling and fraud. Franklin felt that Hughs would become unpopular. He also Praised the colonists for their efforts in the war. The Indians didn’t like this because they felt that the colonists did not use the land the way it was supposed to be used. Britain imposed these taxes in order to pay for the war. George Washington went to the French Fort Duquesne to try to defeat the French. The colonists were faced with many taxes which they repudiated. Stated in a soldiers diary from Massachusetts during the war, the colonial soldiers were being treated poorly. The soldier is comparing the colonial soldiers to the British soldiers which he calls slaves. All of the political, economic, and ideological relations that were altered during the French and Indian war were foreshadowing to the boycotts and rebellions that led to the American Revolution.
