             For years athletes and regular people have been striving to be the best that they can be. Steroids are a way that people can acheive this. Anabolic steroids are the synthetic derivatives of the naturally occuring male anabolic hormone testosterone. These drugs cause mutations in both men and women. In sports there are dire consiquences to the user of steroids. Many people use steroids not knowing the consiquences of the drug.
             There are very dramatic affects that happen in men. For example in the lower region there is shrinking of testacles, reduction of sperm count, and eventually infertility. Men can also go bald, develop breasts, and they increase the risk of prostate cancer. If these effects arent enough to scare you off of steroids I dont know what is.
             There are also very desturbing effects in the the female's body. Women can experience growth of facial hair or male pattern baldness. They can also experience canges in or cessation of the menstral cycle, enlargement of the clitoris and deepening of their voice. There are not as many women that use steroids as there are men.
             There are a number of adolescents that use anabolic steroids. The effects on an adolescent can be much greater because of the fact that they might not be done growing yet. Adolescents' growth can can be halted prematurely through premature skeletal maturation and accelerated puberty changes.
             There are a number of effects that can happen to all people. If you are a user of steroids that uses needles there is always a chance of contracting or transmitting AIDS or hepatitis. A few physical effects to all people include acne, rapid weight gain, clotting disorders, and weakening tendons. Some emotional effects that can happen from this drug include agression, mood swings and violence.
