            Every major society consists of social institutions that satisfy the needs of individuals living in the society. These institutions are government, family, religion, education, economics, and health-care. All of these institutions, operating at optimal level contribute to the success of the society; however, government is the only institution that represents the society as a whole and forms the basis for all the other institutions to exist. It impacts the other institutions, as well as the society enormously through its various functions and benefits. The functions of the government of Cunasura comprise of public services, interest groups, protection from foreign powers, symbols of national unity, social control/laws, orderly settlement of disputes, and the constitution.
             To begin, public services are a major component of the government because they ensure public safety while benefiting the individuals of the society. Similar to the principal services offered by the American government such as fire and police services, education, transportation transit system, hospitals, religious facilities, and so forth, Cunasura will also utilize these services for the individuals in the society. Cunasura will offer public educational institutions to all its members. Like the U.S., it will have elementary schools ranging from kindergarten to fifth grade (ages 5-11), middle schools ranging from sixth grade to eighth grade (ages 11-14), high schools ranging from ninth grade to twelfth grade (ages 14-18), and colleges, universities for adults (age 18 and older). In addition, Cunasura will provide nursing homes for the elderly, city parks for recreation, libraries for educational purposes, rehabilitation centers for therapy patients. Correctional facilities will include jails, and prisons to punish deviants and criminals; rehabilitation centers, part of the correctional system, will be provided to lower the recidivism rates of the criminals.
