Public Schools Need a Uniform Policy

According to our former President Bill Clinton in the article “Can Uniforms save our school”. Clinton states that “school uniforms are one step that may be able to break this cycle of violence, truancy, and disorder”. The Mandating of uniforms was one of the first steps taken to improve schools safety and discipline. Therefore all public schools should require students to wear uniforms. If students were required to wear uniforms there would be a decrease in truancy. It is important for students to be accepted by their peers. Which is why they tend to spend the majority of their mornings trying to figure out what to wear to school. By wearing uniforms it would save students time in getting dressed and allow them to get to school on time.

The adoption of school uniforms in our public schools was an important first step on improving our nations schools. It is also said that students who wear uniforms may engender positive changes in themselves and in school. There are numerous things that we all can benefit by enforcing the uniform policy. Because now they all feel they are equal. They seem to feel that if they don’t wear the designer clothes they will be looked down on.

Opponents of wearing uniforms argue that students cannot be their own individuals. For example grade can be used as away of showing how different we really are from one another. The adaptation of school uniforms was the best thing that could of ever happened for our children.

The increase in discipline and security is also another benefit we encounter with the help of uniforms. Especially nowadays designer clothes are very expensive and important to children. Uniforms help set the tone of a classroom as a serious place for learning. Uniforms are less expensive compared to the designer clothes that are bought for students all year long. Many believe that students attire effects student’s attitudes.
