growing up
As children, we think the words "growing up" mean becoming like mom and dad. However it means having a job, being able to cook dinner, and knowing how to pay bills. We are too young to understand the real concept behind those two dreadful words "Growing up". However I remember some of the best times in my life as a child where it shows how youth brings happiness and joy to everyone. I remember the only thing I used to worry about as a child was going out and having fun. Some say, "The youth is wasted on the young", however I believe youth sticks with you unless you choose to release it. Many of us can't wait to be the perfect age; but what exactly is that age? Is it the age when we will finally find the right one and get married, or when we can legally drink alcohol, or is it when we are settled with families of our own later in life? The night was fun and we were all getting along playing a few drinking games, such as Kings and A** Hole, however after a few hours one of my friends had a little too much to drink. My high school years were filled with many moments of fun and trouble. Our parents were furious at what we did and we were all giving strict consequences. They figure that they will be young forever. I remember up until the 4th grade I was shy around girls and it showed the youth and innocence of our age, however in high school all that went right out the window. Children never really think about the future because it seems so far away. All my friends, including myself were very nervous and didn't know what to do because all our parents thought we were under parental supervision during the trip. My friend Rebecca invited the whole group of friends out to her vacation house to spend the weekend; with no parents may I add. We tried to take care of him as best as we could until finally we called 911, luckily we did because his stomach was in desperate need to be pumped. Academically, most high schools try to help you mature so college will not come as such a shock. This experience stuck with me for 4 years already and I remember that night like it was yesterday, this experience shows me that as you age, life becomes more difficult and comes with more responsibilities. He started to vomit all over the floor and couldn't breathe. My most memorable experience in high school happened in freshman year, my experience shows how an adolescent's age is unique because it shows the immaturity level and brings about a daring, rebellious side to them. Not only did I start talking to girls more but I also started experimenting new things.
