growing up

             As children, we think the words "growing up" mean becoming like mom and dad. However it means having a job, being able to cook dinner, and knowing how to pay bills. We are too young to understand the real concept behind those two dreadful words "Growing up". However I remember some of the best times in my life as a child where it shows how youth brings happiness and joy to everyone. I remember the only thing I used to worry about as a child was going out and having fun. Some say, "The youth is wasted on the young", however I believe youth sticks with you unless you choose to release it. Many of us can't wait to be the perfect age; but what exactly is that age? Is it the age when we will finally find the right one and get married, or when we can legally drink alcohol, or is it when we are settled with families of our own later in life? For every individual, it is a different age and a different dream waiting to be fulfilled.
             Age will always be a touchy subject to many people. When you are young, you are proud to say you are
             eighteen or twenty. But the older the people are the more hesitant they are to say they are forty or fifty. I remember my perfect age; this was my first year of high school. Academically, most high schools try to help you mature so college will not come as such a shock. In this sense, a maturing of age is almost forced upon you, and for a lot of people, it takes more than just four years to mature.
             My high school years were filled with many moments of fun and trouble. I remember up until the 4th grade I was shy around girls and it showed the youth and innocence of our age, however in high school all that went right out the window. Not only did I start talking to girls more but I also started experimenting new things.
