cloning
There is one thing in the world today that separates us from God and that is the ability or power to create another human. Cloning not only goes against the ethics of a human being but also against the difference between God and man. There are many reasons that I feel we should not clone. While many are welcoming the new era of society with open arms, I am hiding my face in shame over the procedures that must be preformed in order to advance in technology. There are many medical advantages in the development of cloning and genetic testing, however, there are many implications as well. Of course there is a price to pay for everything, and in this case, it is the price of an embryo or should I say "person"?As discussed in my previous essay on abortion, I feel as though a person becomes a person as soon as it is conceived. Regardless if it is inside a woman's womb or a petri dish the genetic structure is still there and therefore a life is at stake. At this point, we are entering into this new era and there are a lot of unanswered questions revolving around the dependability of these new techniques and tests. As in all cases of scientific research, there is a period of trial and error. We must go through
Consider: a woman wants a biological child, but her ovaries don't work because of age or other reasons. Works Cited1. (2)How would cloning affect us emotionally? First the idea of individualism needs to be discussed. This may cause jealousy and affect the way we view ourselves. Is this what we would consider ethical human behavior? If we were to clone another of us would we want ourselves to suffer? No one wants to see suffering without probable cause and this is exactly what would happen if we were to allow cloning. Spiritually and ethically should we allow for cloning? First I wan to talk about human ethics. We may be affected emotionally if we see that our "significant other" is more successful in life or has more friends than we have. Before There Was Dolly, There Were Disasters: Scientists failed to disclose abnormalities. President Clinton swiftly imposed a ban on federal funding for human-cloning research. Such breakthroughs do not happen everyday.
