             Agamemnon and Akhilleus were two warriors that worked together with honor and pride they earned during all the arduous wars they fought through. They both had but Agamemnon exposes that pride is more important than his friendship with Akhilleus. Agamemnon takes away Akhilleus' honor by demanding Briseis to be his. Akhilleus gets upset at Agamemnon because Agamemnon demands to take his prize. Agamemnon's prize was taken away by Apollo, because the father of Khryseis praise to Apollo to have her back. "O hear me, master of the silver bow, protector of Tenedos and the holy towns, Apollo, Sminthian, if to your liking ever in any grove I roofed a shrince or burnt thighbones in fat upon your altar-bullock or goat flesh-let my wish come true: your arrows on the Danaans for my tears!"(Pg 12) The father of Khryseis has pride to do what he did. A warrior who has won a battle receives a prize and by what the father of Khryseis believes that he has pride in ordering his daughter back. He caused a lot of problems between Agamemnon and Akhilleus, two really good friends. Agamemnon says, "That done, I myself will call for Briseis at your hut, and take her, flower of young girls that she is, your prize, to show you here and now who is the stronger and make the next man sick at heart-if any think of claiming equal place with me"(Pg 17) Agamemnon is a person who holds his honor with strength, because he believes his pride is in higher position than Akhilleus. This makes Agamemnon dishonorable, because a person would not treat his own friend that way. There is no honor in Agamemnon.
             Akhilleus is the one that is honorable. His pride interferes with his situation dealing with Agamemnon. He was too weak and he didn't fight back with Agamemnon to stand up and show him that he's wrong. If he stood up for himself and revealed his pride, his prize might not have have been taken.
